Pembrokeshire Snooker League

Saundersfoot Sports Club (sponsored by LG Leisure) played away on Sunday night at the Manchester Club, in a re-arranged league game and were 4-1 losers.

The first frame saw captain Glyn Davies play Steve Gardener. Glyn started well, but so did his opponent. This was a pot fest and, with both players playing well, it was inevitable it would go down to the black, which unfortunately Glyn didn’t get, to lose by a single point.

The second frame saw Steve Cook play Jason Mackett. Steve started cautiously, but then got going, opening up a good early lead. Mid-frame, however, the frame got bogged down a little, with each player struggling to find an opening. By the colours, Steve was two points down, but as the colours progressed, it was still nip and tuck, with this frame also going to the black, which again the Saundersfoot man missed out on.

The third frame saw Dean Ludlow play Jamie Greenish. Dean started well, potting good balls, but his opponent was equal to him and by mid-frame, Dean found himself 20 points behind. This was still the same by the colours and with Dean’s luck being definitely out, he eventually succumbed on the blue.

The fourth frame saw Mark Cleevely play M. Gardener. Mark was struggling to get a foothold in this frame right from the start, with his opponent potting well. He continued to battle, though, and this was another frame which went to the black, which this time the Saundersfoot player sank for victory.

The final frame saw Darren Morgan play Ashley Dundas. Darren started quietly, exchanging pots with his opponent, but it was a real scrappy game, with Darren unable to make any real impact. It continued to be a close affair, but Darren eventually lost it on the blue.
